Govt urged to introduce driving skills in school
20/02/2006 - 12:06:18The AA Roadwatch has called on the Government to introduce a driving skills programme in schools.
It follows reports of a new EU study which names Ireland as one of the worst countries in Europe for improving road safety.
We are failing to significantly reduce the number of deaths on our roads compared to other EU states.
Conor Faughnan of AA Roadwatch says there is a glaring deficiency in that teaching driving is not part of the school curriculum, and he said this must be rectified immediately.
