St. Gall’s through to final after win over Rangers

AIB ALL-IRELAND CLUB FOOTBALL SEMI-FINAL:
Nemo Rangers (Cork) 1-06 St. Gall’s (Antrim) 0-10, Portlaoise

St. Gall’s won through to their first AIB All-Ireland Club Football final after toppling seven-time champions Nemo Rangers of Cork.

Nemo duo James Masters (0-02) and Niall O’Sullivan hit the final three points at Portlaoise, but the Antrim side held on.

Masters converted a 26th-minute penalty, after a foul on David Niblock, but Nemo still trailed at half-time by 1-01 to 0-06.

Sean Burns boosted his tally to seven points as St. Gall’s went 0-09 to 1-01 in front. The Antrim side then lost defender Gary McGirr to a second yellow card, but they clung on for an historic win.
