Ahern declares no rift with Haughey over after meeting
17/02/2006 - 19:02:59Taoiseach Bertie Ahern tonight confirmed having held a meeting with the Dublin North Central TD Sean Haughey today.
In a short statement released by his office, the meeting is said to have been amicable and helpful.
Both men discussed the issues of the week relating to the cabinet reshuffle of Tuesday in which Deputy Haughey was over-looked, despite being hotly tipped for promotion.
The statement goes on to say that there are now no differences between the Taoiseach and Deputy Haughey as a result of these discussions.
Seán, the statement says, will continue with his work in the Dublin North Central constituency.
