Viduka out for Boro

15/02/2006 - 10:49:39
Middlesbrough striker Mark Viduka will again be missing from the squad for tomorrow night’s UEFA Cup clash with Stuttgart in Germany through illness.

The Australia international has not played since he was involved in a bust-up with angry fans in the wake of his side’s 4-0 home defeat by Aston Villa, although manager Steve McClaren revealed he reported in sick before Saturday’s 3-0 win over Chelsea.

Tony McMahon returns to the squad for the first time this season after dislocating a shoulder in August, while Fabio Rochemback is now eligible to play in Europe. James Morrison (hip), Franck Queudrue (knee), Gaizka Mendieta (hamstring and knee), Ugo Ehiogu (hamstring), Ray Parlour (ankle) and Lee Cattermole (hamstring) are all missing and 19-year-old utility man Gary Liddle has been called up.

Team (from): Schwarzer, Jones, Parnaby, McMahon, Davies, Southgate, Riggott, Pogatetz, Taylor, Bates, Doriva, Rochemback, Boateng, Downing, Johnson, Kennedy, Hasselbaink, Maccarone, Yakubu, Liddle.
