Quinn worried about Henry future

15/02/2006 - 07:39:54
Former Arsenal and Ireland striker Niall Quinn fears the Gunners could lose Thierry Henry if their current slump in form continues.

Arsene Wenger’s side are in real danger of failing to qualify for next season’s Champions League after last night’s 1-0 loss at Liverpool.

Their ninth league defeat of the season left them four points adrift of fourth-placed Tottenham in the Barclays Premiership table.

Henry’s current deal with Arsenal runs until the summer of 2007 and he has suggested he is willing to sign a new contract.

However, the Frenchman has also been strongly linked with a move to Spanish giants Barcelona and Quinn fears that would become more likely if the Gunners are not in the hunt for silverware.

“From what we know of him as a player, my big worry is that he was so out of the game last night,” Quinn told Sky Sports.

“It was not necessarily his fault, but the way Arsenal are playing, he’s going back down the motorway on that coach thinking will I sign a contract to be part of this or should I be in a team that’s winning.

“That’s my big worry, that Arsenal need something to happen very quickly for him to be convinced.”
