DUP and SDLP to hold talks with Blair
15/02/2006 - 07:53:53The Democratic Unionist Party and the SDLP are due to hold separate talks with British Prime Minister Tony Blair in London today as efforts continue to restore devolved government in the North.
The Irish and British Governments are hoping to arrange negotiations on the matter between the North's political parties following the IRA's declaration of an end to its armed struggle.
However, the DUP is refusing to enter any such talks, claiming the IRA has not lived up to its promise and is still engaged in widespread criminality.
The hardline unionist party has said it will not even consider sharing power with Sinn Féin until the IRA is completely disbanded.
