Dunlop to give further evidence about Ballycullen bribes

09/02/2006 - 08:57:50
Former political lobbyist Frank Dunlop is due to give further evidence to the Mahon Tribunal today about bribes he allegedly paid to several Dublin county councillors in the early 1990s.

The tribunal is currently examining the rezoning of land in the Ballycullen area of south Co Dublin controlled by developers Christopher and Gerry Jones.

Yesterday, Mr Dunlop gave evidence about IR£11,000 in bribes he claims he paid to nine county councillors in return for their support on the rezoning motion.

He also accepted that Christopher Jones had given him at least IR£59,000 to secure the rezoning, despite initially claiming he had been paid just IR£17,500.
