Elton John blames marriage for Lestat failure
07/02/2006 - 13:58:47Elton John blames the pressures of his extended 'wedding' celebrations and hectic Las Vegas schedule for the critical mauling of his musical Lestat.
The Sacrifice hitmaker who entered into a civil partnership with his longterm love David Furnish in December, acknowledges his recent work ethic has been less than conscientious.
He tells the New York Post: "It is frustrating that I can't get there more often.
"I haven't been as helpful as I could be.
"But when the show is in New York, I'll be on the East Coast working in Atlanta, so I'll be popping in and out. - Any excuse to come to New York!"
