Rioters in New Delhi clash with police over cartoons

Riot police fired tear gas and water cannons to disperse hundreds of students protesting against the publication of cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad in European newspapers.

There were no immediate reports of injuries.

The protesters, mostly from New Delhi’s Jamia University, chanted slogans and burned a Danish flag before riot police broke up the demonstration.
