Kelly: Omagh scenes were 'totally unacceptable'
GAA President Sean Kelly has dubbed the brawling scenes that marred yesterday's NFL Division 1A clash between Tyrone and Dublin as "totally unacceptable".
In a statement released today, Kelly confirmed that the Association will hold an investigation into the tempestuous affair at Healy Park, which ended in a 1-09 to 1-06 win for the Dubs.
Numerous player suspensions and hefty fines for both county boards seem certain after a total of five flare-ups, 14 yellow cards - eight for Dublin and six for Tyrone - and four red cards blighted the heavyweights' tussle.
Kelly said: "Nobody wants to pre-empt the enquiry into what occurred and nobody wants to apportion blame, a lot of what went on was totally unacceptable, but the matter will be fully investigated and the rules of the Association will be applied."
