Bishop Casey returns to Ireland after 14-year absence
06/02/2006 - 07:48:00Former Bishop of Galway Eamonn Casey has returned to Ireland 14 years after leaving the country amid a storm of controversy over his affair American woman Annie Murphy.
The 78-year-old arrived in Dublin Port yesterday evening on a ferry from Wales, but his current location is unknown.
Dr Casey is due to move back to his former parish of Shanaglish, where he is planning to live out his retirement.
He left the area in 1992 after it emerged that he had fathered a child with Ms Murphy, whom he had been involved in a relationship with since the 1970s.
