Rebels well beaten in Tullamore

05/02/2006 - 17:00:24
Offaly 0-12 Cork 1-05

An injury-time goal from Cork debutant Daniel Goulding was not enough to prevent Offaly from taking the spoils in Tullamore.

The midlanders powered into a 0-07 to 0-02 lead by the interval. John Reynolds (2), Tomas Deehan, Ross Connor (3) and Niall McNamee were on target for Kevin Kilmurray’s men. Kevin O’Sullivan and Conor McCarthy landed Cork’s points.

The trend of Cork wasting possession continued into the second half. Offaly ‘keeper Padraig Kelly palmed away two goal shots, and a run of four points, with Niall and Alan McNamee both adding to their tallies, confirmed a valuable home win.
