Investigation into alleged garda rape of colleague

An investigation is reportedly underway into an allegation that a garda raped a female colleague.

The incident is alleged to have taken place after a night out in Cork city and a complaint was made shortly afterwards.

A special investigation team has been set up and detectives are understood to be interviewing everyone who was involved in the night out.

The female complainant is based at a station in West Cork.
