Uttoxeter take a look

03/02/2006 - 16:14:49
Tomorrow’s meeting at Uttoxeter is subject to a precautionary inspection at 8am.

Officials describe the Staffordshire track as perfectly raceable but temperatures could drop below freezing overnight.

“Although it’s been very cold for the last few days we have been perfectly raceable,” said clerk of the course Keith Ottesen.

“However, the forecast is for temperatures between zero and minus three tonight so it makes sense to have a precautionary look at 8am tomorrow.

“The good news is that tomorrow’s maximum temperature is plus seven, so it’s set to warm up a little bit.

“It will depend what time the milder weather comes and how low it gets during the night.

“In the meantime we’ve taken all the normal precautions of putting down frost sheets on all the take-offs and landings and the other vulnerable areas.”

The going is described as good to soft, soft in places.
