McKenna Cup final date confirmed
02/02/2006 - 07:27:58The Dr McKenna Cup final will take place at Casement Park on February 19, a week later than previously scheduled.
The Ulster Council has re-fixed the date of the Monaghan v Tyrone final due to Monaghan club Inniskeen's involvement in the All-Ireland Intermediate Club decider, which takes place on February 19.
Tyrone, the McKenna Cup holders, will have star wing back Philip Jordan back for the final. The Moy clubman returned home from a skiing holiday last weekend, having sat out the McKenna Cup group stages.
However, Tyrone skipper Brian Dooher will be an absentee - the 2005 All-Ireland winning captain underwent surgery on an ankle injury before Christmas, and is expected to return to the fold in 4-5 weeks' time.
