ISEQ buoyed by construction stocks

The ISEQ index of shares was back in the red today as it fell back 3.03 points to close at 7604.37.

Losses in a number of sectors were offset by strong gains among certain stocks. It was a good day for construction stocks as CRH surged ahead 51c to close at €26.40, while Kingspan was up 21c to to €11.71.

Insurance group FBD also saw significant gains, up 76c to €36.46 at close of business.

It was a bad day for the financials. Anglo Irish and Irish Life & Permanent were worst hit, both down 15c to close at €12.96 and €17.55 respectively.

AIB was down 10c to €18.40, while Bank of Ireland lost just 1c to close at €14.15.
