Greenspan agrees to advise Brown
01/02/2006 - 12:15:51Former US Federal Reserve chairman Dr Alan Greenspan agreed today to become an adviser to Britain's Chancellor of the Exchequer Gordon Brown.
Dr Greenspan, who retired from the Fed yesterday after 19 years in charge, will offer advice on global economic change as Mr Brown prepares for a series of meetings with world business leaders.
Just days ago, Mr Brown described Dr Greenspan as “not only one of the world’s most outstanding economic policymakers, but the greatest economist of his generation”.
