British soldier killed in Basra blast
31/01/2006 - 09:49:26A British soldier was killed today in an explosion in southern Iraq – the 100th to die since the 2003 invasion – Britain’s Ministry of Defence said.
The MoD said the soldier from the 7th Armoured Brigade was killed after an explosion in Basra. It did not identify the soldier.
Three other soldiers were injured in the blast at 8.34am local time (5.43am Irish time), a ministry spokeswoman said.
Another British soldier died Monday after coming under fire in Iraq’s Maysan Province.
