Fermanagh appoint Burns

31/01/2006 - 18:18:35
Fabian Burns has been confirmed as the new Fermanagh senior hurling manager.

The Enniskillen Gaels clubman takes over from Donal O'Shea, who stepped down in November after two seasons in charge.

Burns worked alongside O'Shea as the Ernesiders' coach last season and boasts vast experience - he coached the Fermanagh junior side to All-Ireland JHC title in 1994.

The current Fermanagh senior squad, which includes forward Kevin McGarry, a member of the 2005 Nicky Rackard Cup 'Champion 15' selection, have been back in training at the Lissan Centre of Excellence since last month.

They open their National League Division 3B campaign against Tyrone on February 19.
