CSO reports fall in pension coverage among workers
31/01/2006 - 12:47:12The Central Statistics Office has reported a slight reduction in the level of pension coverage among Irish workers.
The CSO said today that 51.5% of workers between the ages of 20 and 69 had pensions in the first quarter of last year, compared to 52.4% in the same period of 2004.
It said pension coverage for female workers increased from 46.8% in the first quarter of 2004 to 47.5% in the first quarter of 2005, while pension coverage for men decreased from 56.3% to 54.2%.
