Boxing: Gomez purse withheld after lightweight title fight
29/01/2006 - 11:33:10Michael Gomez has had his purse withheld for "lack of trying" after he lost last night's Irish lightweight title fight on a fifth-round knockout by Peter McDonagh.
One major bookmaker had suspended betting on the bout after a flurry of betting on a mid-fight McDonagh knockout win.
Elsewhere, Bernard Dunne continued his unbeaten record by stopping former British and European champion Noel Wilders in six rounds.
