This afternoon’s meeting at Chepstow goes ahead after the track passed a 10.30am inspection.

Clerk of the course Tim Long checked conditions for the first time at 8am but he was forced to take another look at 9.30am as the result proved inconclusive.

A third check was then made and Long was satisfied with the outcome of that inspection.

He said: “We are going ahead. We have had a dramatic improvement in temperatures and we are good to go now.”
