Agathe in a hurry to quit Celtic
Celtic defender Didier Agathe insists he cannot get away from Parkhead and manager Gordon Strachan quickly enough.
The out-of-favour 30-year-old, who has been at Celtic for five years, has only made four substitute appearances since Martin O’Neill departed in the summer and is currently training on his own.
Agathe, who has attracted interest from Middlesbrough and Leeds, is particularly disgruntled by Strachan’s claims that he is injured and is now looking to end his misery in Glasgow.
He said: “My regret is that Strachan never gave me a chance. He always said that I was injured.
"That is wrong.
“The supporters do not understand and neither does the Press. I can assure everybody that I am in great shape.
“This has been the worst of seasons and my dearest wish is to leave as quickly as possible. I cannot stay here another six months,
“What annoys me is that Celtic do not make it easy for me. I have remained quiet. I have never made any comments to the Press and how do they thank me? By putting a stick in the wheel.
“Since being moved away from the group, I have trained alone and I do a little in the gym to keep my form.
“I hope I shall be able to make it elsewhere shortly.”
