Insurer passes new business milestone
26/01/2006 - 07:46:33Strong demand for savings-based products drove annual new business figures from British insurer Legal & General above the £1bn (€1.5bn) mark today.
The group described 2005 as a “year of remarkable growth” as the new business figure of £1.19bn (€1.7bn) for the UK represented a 32% gain on a year earlier.
Legal said it benefited from distribution agreements with banks and building societies, while the environment for UK savings and investment products had been strong following a rally in consumer confidence.
