CRH and banks perform well to boost ISEQ
26/01/2006 - 11:01:01The ISEQ was up 53.06 points at 7496.86 at 10.30am today, as many of the large companies posted gains.
CRH was the leader of the pack, up 37c (1.5%) at €25.78.
Allied Irish Bank was the morning’s busiest share, and was up 27c (1.5%) at €18.45 mid-morning.
Anglo Irish Bank gained 18c (1.4%) to €12.83, while Bank of Ireland was up 14c (1%) at €13.84.
Irish Life and Permanent was up 17c at €17.32. In the UK this morning, Lloyds TSB ended an 18-month search for a new chairman by announcing the appointment of Sir Victor Blank.
Bookmaker Paddy Power posted a gain of 15c (1.2%) to €12.50.
Eircom was unchanged at €1.95, despite busy trading.
