C&D workers to be told of company’s plans today
19/01/2006 - 07:29:34Workers at the C&D Foods factory in Co Longford are reportedly set to learn today if any of their jobs will be saved following last Sunday's fire.
Reports this morning said management at the pet-food plant in Edgeworthstown had invited union representatives to a meeting to discuss plans for the future of the company.
Around 500 workers could be set to lose their jobs as a result of the massive fire that destroyed the factory on Sunday night.
This morning's reports said a number of options were being considered by C&D management, including outsourcing certain functions while the damaged sections of the plant are repaired.
