Oscar-winning actor Russell Crowe and his wife are reportedly expecting their second child and the little one already has a standing offer to become an honorary citizen of a French village.

The mayor of Bonnieux, a hilltop village in southern France where the actor shot parts of A Good Year late last year, was delighted to hear reports that the baby was conceived in France.

“I think that ... the very pleasant and warm atmosphere in the south of France might have helped give them the necessary inspiration,” Mayor Roger Fenelon said Thursday.

Crowe, his wife Danielle Spencer and their baby are welcome in Bonnieux anytime, Fenelon said.

“It would give us great pleasure if one day, during a trip to France, they stop by Bonnieux so we can make their baby an honorary citizen,” Fenelon said.

Crowe, a New Zealander who won an Oscar for his role in 2000’s Gladiator, made a red-carpet announcement at the Golden Globes awards that he and Spencer are expecting their second child.

“She’s due in July, so it’s a French conception,” he told the TV cameras.

Crowe, 41, and Spencer, 34, already have a 2-year-old son, Charles Spencer Crowe.
