Leto getting into Lennon-stalker character
19/01/2006 - 09:58:23New Yorkers walking near the scene where John Lennon was shot dead 25 years ago saw a startling sight this week, when it looked like killer Mark David Chapman was lurking once again.
But the lurker was actually actor Jared Leto, who is playing Chapman in the new Lennon movie Chapter 27.
Leto has piled on the pounds to play Chapman and was wearing tinted sunglasses and carrying a copy of Catcher In The Rye, just like Chapman did on the fateful day in 1980.
Not everyone is happy with the production, with some claiming that the movie-makers are being disrespectful by filming outside Lennon’s home, where his widow Yoko Ono still lives.
