Six people stabbed in Synagogue
11/01/2006 - 16:05:39A man armed with a knife stabbed and wounded several people in a synagogue in Moscow today, a police spokesman said.
At least six people were rushed to hospital after the attack at the Polyakova Synagogue, a duty officer with the Central Moscow district police precinct said.
Police detained the man and were questioning him in the building, the officer said.
The Interfax news agency said the suspect was a Moscow resident in his 20s.
Ekho Moskvyi radio said the wounds were light, but numerous.
A person identified as a witness told Ekho Moskvyi radio he overheard the suspect telling police that “he was killing them".
