Bar Council welcomes moves to reform legal costs system
11/01/2006 - 15:23:11The Bar Council this afternoon welcomed proposed reforms of the legal costs system.
The plans are expected to lead to a drop in fees for clients.
There will be greater transparency of charges, and a new regulatory body will ensure fees reflect the amount of time and work the case involved.
In personal litigation cases, the fees will no longer be a percentage of the award.
