Digital cameras make it a happy Christmas for Jessops
09/01/2006 - 07:37:00Photographic specialist Jessops celebrated a buoyant Christmas today after digital cameras again proved to be one of the “must-buys” of the season.
The group said like-for-like sales stood 9.4% higher in the five weeks to January 1, helping total sales to close the period 13.3% stronger.
Jessops, who have more than 260 stores in the UK, six in the North and one in Dublin, described the performance as a “welcome respite” from the tough retail environment, adding that digital camera sales were up 23% in the period.
