Crunch time for crisp maker
09/01/2006 - 14:29:36UK crisp maker Golden Wonder went into administration today putting 850 jobs at risk.
Administrators Kroll said the company suffered “serious trading difficulties” as it tried to compete in a market dominated by rival Walkers.
Kroll said it had already taken the decision to close a site at Corby, Northamptonshire, where 350 people work.
Golden Wonder, which produces Nik-Naks, Wheat Crunchies and Ringos, also has sites at Market Harborough in Leicestershire and Scunthorpe.
