At least 63 journalists killed worldwide in 2005

2005 was the deadliest year for journalists in more than a decade, according to figures released by the media group Reporters Without Borders today.

The French-based organisation said at least 63 journalists were killed during the year, 24 of them in Iraq.

US forces were responsible for three of those deaths.

Elsewhere, China topped the list for the highest number of journalists imprisoned.
