Cash boost for Hearts

Hearts will have around 10% of their debt wiped out ahead of the new year.

The club have received notification from Ukio Banko that almost £2m (€2.9m) will be eradicated, along with almost £200,000 (€290,000) interest, on December 31.

Hearts‘ debt at the moment stands at just over £20m (€29m).

The news is a further boost to the club who have already benefited financially from the arrival of Lithuanian businessman Vladimir Romanov.

The club‘s majority shareholder has ploughed cash into the playing budget and Hearts are currently second in the Bank of Scotland Premier League.
