Govt announces €1m grants for on-street CCTV
30/12/2005 - 12:38:41The Government has announced grants totalling €1m to help local communities around the country install on-street CCTV cameras.
The money is being provided by the Departments of Justice and Community Affairs in a bid to tackle anti-social behaviour and street assaults.
Community groups and local councils will be able to access grants of up to €200,000 to erect CCTV systems that will be operated by local Gardaí.
