Murphy misses out
27/12/2005 - 09:20:20Charlton must do without suspended midfielder Danny Murphy for tomorrow night’s clash with Newcastle after his sending off in the 1-0 defeat to Arsenal at The Valley on Boxing Day.
Defender Gonzalo Sorondo is a major doubt after badly bruising his foot against the Gunners, while Alexei Smertin (knee) and Jerome Thomas (virus) will also face fitness tests after both missing Monday’s game.
Goalkeeper Thomas Myhre – one of six changes by manager Alan Curbishley against Arsenal – is likely to retain his place, with striker Kevin Lisbie and winger Darren Ambrose also both pressing for a start.
