Kingscliff 'fine' after Sandown run

27/12/2005 - 11:59:28
Kingscliff is reported to be in fine shape after being pulled-up when out of contention in the Stan James King George VI Chase at Sandown.

The eight-year-old started second favourite for the Boxing Day feature could never get in a blow after making a bad mistake at the 10th fence.

“He’s fine,” said trainer Robert Alner, whose horse had been in line for the inaugural Betfair Million bonus after taking the first of three legs in the series, the Betfair Chase at Haydock last month.

The final leg is the totesport Cheltenham Gold Cup in March for which Kingscliff is now a best-priced 10-1 with William Hill.
