Savage calls for end to spitting spat
22/12/2005 - 12:16:36Robbie Savage has cleared Middlesbrough defender Emanuel Pogatetz of any misconduct.
The Blackburn midfielder made his comments after an alleged spitting incident during his side’s 1-0 victory at the Riverside Stadium in the Carling Cup.
“There was no way it was intentional,” Savage told www.rovers.co.uk.
“He came over shouting at me and I was caught by something from his mouth, but there was no way he intended it to happen.
“He apologised, I accepted and we shook hands.”
