ComReg report critical of An Post service
The Commission for Communications Regulation today reported that the quality of An Post's service worsened during the third quarter of 2005.
After improvements in delivery times in the first half of the year, 74% of standard correspondence was delivered within one working day throughout the State against a target of 94%. This represents a 4% drop in service quality, according to ComReg.
Mail posted outside of Dublin for next day delivery in Dublin experienced a 69% success rate, while mail posted outside of Dublin for local delivery recorded a success rate of 79%.
96% of all mail was delivered within three working days, a 2% fall over the first two quarters of 2005 and a 3% drop in quality over the corresponding period of 2004. The result falls short of the 99.5% target set by ComReg.
