Annual manufacturing prices up 3.5% in November
Factory-gate prices increased by 1.1% in November. This compares to a decrease of 1.4% recorded for November of last year.
As a result, the annual percentage change showed an increase of 3.5% in November 2005, which compares to an increase of 0.9% in October 2005.
In the month, the index for export sales increased by 1.3% while the index for home sales remained unchanged.
In the year, there was an increase in export sales of 3.5% and an increase in home sales of 2.6%.
In the month, the most significant changes were increases in basic chemicals (+1.7%), other food products (+1.9%), meat and meat products (+2.6%) and radio, television and communication equipment (+1.6%).
Contributing to the annual change were increases in basic chemicals (+5.5%) and other food products (+7.7%), while there was a decrease in office machinery and computers (-3.0%).
The yearly price index for mining and quarrying increased by 22.4% while there was a monthly increase of 3.0%.
Building and construction material prices increased by 3.3% in the year since November 2004. The most notable yearly changes were increases in bituminous emulsions (+17.6%) and electrical fittings (+9.8%).
Building and construction material prices increased by 0.7% in the month.
Year-on-year, the prices of capital goods increased by 2.6%, while there was a monthly price increase of 0.2%.
The prices of energy products increased by 7.8% in the year since November 2004, while petroleum fuels increased by 22.0%.
In November 2005, there was a monthly decrease in energy products of 1.3% and a decrease in petroleum fuels of 4.3%.
