Search continues for young man missing in River Shannon

Rescuers in Co Leitrim are continuing to search for a young man who has been missing in the River Shannon since the early hours of yesterday morning.

The 20-year-old Co Roscommon man apparently jumped overboard from a pleasure cruiser near Carrick-on-Shannon during a night out with friends.

A search yesterday focusing on the Rinnacurreen area failed to find any trace of him, but divers were due to resume their efforts at first light this morning.
