ISEQ off to lacklustre start

The ISEQ index of Irish shares got off to a lacklustre start this morning, slipping 12.18 points to 7242.71 by 11am.

The financial heavyweights were mostly in negative territory. Irish Life and Permanent was the heaviest faller - down 28c to €16.15. Bank of Ireland fell 8c to €13.17. Anglo Irish Bank slipped 3c to €12.24.

AIB bucked the trend, rising 6c to €18.06.

Elan, who made positive gains all last week fell 39c to €36.50.

CRH rose 17c to €24.32.
