Moran adds to Dublin's injury list

15/12/2005 - 17:26:39
Dublin forward Colin Moran will miss the opening rounds of the Allianz National Football League due to a hampering groin injury.

The Ballyboden St Enda's star, who is expected to be sidelined until early March, is contemplating surgery on his groin. Moran scored five points in six championship appearances last summer.

Injuries to captain Paddy Christie (abductor muscle) and his fellow defender Stephen O'Shaughnessy (shoulder), as well as midfielder Shane Ryan's suspension for recently lining out for DCU while ineligible, mean Dubs boss Paul Caffrey is likely to experiment with his side for the league's opening rounds in February.

Better news for the Leinster champions arrived last weekend when Alan Brogan lined out for his club St Oliver Plunkett's in a county league game. The influential forward showed no ill-affects from his recent ankle injury.
