Phillips doubtful for Villa
06/12/2005 - 15:07:06Aston Villa striker Kevin Phillips is rated doubtful for Saturday’s Premiership clash at Bolton after picking up an ankle injury in training.
The former Southampton player has undergone a scan to determine the extent of the damage but he is facing an uphill battle to be ready for the trip to the Reebok Stadium.
Phillips had only just returned to training after recovering from a bout of sickness which had ruled him out of the weekend draw with Newcastle.
Phillips has had a stop-start first season at Villa and had missed four games earlier in the campaign because of a calf strain.
But the signs had been encouraging that he was forming a partnership with £6m signing Milan Baros until his latest setback.
