Peel stays with Scarlets
06/12/2005 - 15:16:43British and Irish Lions scrum half Dwayne Peel today signed a new two-year contract with Llanelli Scarlets keeping him at the Welsh region until the end of the 2008 season.
The new deal ends speculation that the 24-year-old would be leaving Stradey Park at the end of the current campaign to join an English club, with Wasps the favourites.
But the Scarlets have moved quickly to contract Peel who said he was relieved the negotiations had been completed.
“I am delighted to re-sign for the Scarlets,” said the player.
“Naturally the interest from other clubs has been flattering but I don’t think clubs come any bigger than this one both in tradition and ambition.”
