Liverpool blunted Chelsea’s cutting edge once again tonight to earn the point they required to finish top of Group G.
Jose Mourinho’s men have yet to score against Liverpool in four Champions League games and the Merseysiders have now gone nine games without conceding a goal – one short of equalling a club record.
Arjen Robben squandered the best chance for Chelsea – whose qualification was assured in any case – by firing into the side-netting from eight yards after Didier Drogba had laid the ball into his path.
Liverpool offered little in attack with their best effort being a first-half drive from John Arne Riise which Petr Cech did well to keep out.
