BA record November passenger increase
British Airways enjoyed a good November, with passenger numbers on the increase, it was announced today.
The airline carried 2.73 million passengers last month, a 1.7% rise on the November 2004 total.
Only BA’s UK and European flights (1.1% down) showed a passenger dip in November 2005.
Numbers on BA’s Africa and Middle East flights rose 9.5%, while Asia Pacific traffic was 8.4% up and North and South America traffic increased 5.4%.
The airline’s passenger flights were 73.2% full last month compared with 71.3% full in November 2004. The number of premium passengers (those travelling in first and business class) rose 12% last month.
The figures came after BA announced plans last week to scrap nearly 600 management posts by March 2008 – the month the airline is due to move into Heathrow’s new Terminal 5.
