Lampard on world player of the year shortlist

Chelsea’s Frank Lampard is on the three-man shortlist for FIFA’s world player of the year award along with Barcelona stars Ronaldinho and Samuel Eto’o.

Lampard, the footballer of the year in England last season and second behind Ronaldinho for the European award announced earlier this week, makes it onto the shortlist for the first time.

FIFA’s world player of the year will be announced at a gala in Zurich on December 19.
