Big names join Godolphin
Top middle-distance filly Shawanda and crack miler Valixir have both been purchased by the Godolphin operation.
Also joining Sheikh Mohammed’s outfit from the ownership of the Aga Khan are Caradak and another three-year-old filly, Oiseau Rare.
Runaway winner of the Irish Oaks and the Prix Vermeille, Shawanda was last seen finishing sixth in the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, while Valixir numbered the Prix d’Ispahan and Queen Anne Stakes among his three victories last season.
Racing manager Simon Crisford told www.godolphin.com: “We are pleased to have added these horses to our team for 2006. Valixir and Caradak will probably be seen in action at Nad Al Sheba in the spring.
“Shawanda and Oiseau Rare will also stay in training and when they eventually retire, they will be great additions to Sheikh Mohammed’s broodmare band.”
