Jagger reveals Stones' European tour dates

29/11/2005 - 11:01:17
Rock star Mick Jagger insisted the Rolling Stones were still enjoying playing live as details of their new European tour were unveiled today.

Sir Mick, now 62, said the veteran rockers enjoyed being on the road as he announced some of the British venues for the European tour.

“We do enjoy ourselves doing it… everyone has been saying how can they enjoy themselves, they should be bored to death doing this,” he told GMTV, in a live interview from Dallas, Texas.

“If we were bored to death, we would not be doing it.”

Jagger said the band has a date at the new Wembley Stadium on August 20. They will also play in Sheffield, Cardiff and Glasgow.

The UK tour dates are part of the Rolling Stones A Bigger Bang European Tour which launches in May next year at Barcelona’s Olympic Stadium.

The band will give more than 30 European concerts next year in more than 20 countries.

The Stones, who were first formed in 1961, launched their US tour in late August this year.
